God is so in love with you that He wants all of you, not just part of you!


Our Purpose determines our Passion, proven by our Pursuit, based on our Promise!

By checking these three things you can easily see what is most important in your life!

How is the fulfillment of vision meant to work in practical terms?
Proverbs 18:16 is a powerful statement that reveals the answer: "A man's gift makes room for him" (NKJV). What you were designed to be known for is your gift.

God has given you a gift or talent that will make room for you.

The second part of Proverbs 18:16 says, "A man's gift…brings him before great men" (NKJV). You don't realize that the gift that God has given you is loaded with possibility.

In this series I have spoken to you in generalities but today more specifically. Here at TCC is where we as individuals plug in to the Body of Christ as a whole to serve Him on the local level, with our Time, Talents and Treasures for as long as we are in this local body!

His pledge- Hebrews 13:5  "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Our response to His pledge,"I will never leave you. I will never forsake you!"

It is on this day that I sense a tug toward a heritage that I have been grafted into. I feel the conviction of truth that men have stood for since the beginning of time! A belief in something that is other worldly. Something that, though invisible, can clearly be seen. It is the effects of the truth of the gospel that has drawn men and women from every nation, tribe, tongue, and continent of the world.

It is the truth that has caused men to forfeit their comfort and their well-being; to grasp hold of something that is heavenspiritually discerned. It spurs us past the ordinary and into that extraordinary place where few have walked.

Today we walk in the footsteps of giants. Men and women of faith, people of spiritual vision that would never be satisfied with this natural world but had caught a glimpse of a spiritual city and a holy God who is its builder. People who have seen the frailty and vanity of this life and will never rest on this side of glory! We must take our cue from those that have gone before us that have continually perpetuated the sacrifice that only God deserves. Money will not appease them. Fame is not their goal for they have seen the eternal and nothing in this fallen world will quench the hunger they feel deep inside. Their desire is to stand in the presence of the living God!

Family will not deter them, friends cannot sway them and the enemy will not stop them! They are aggressive in their faith. God is not a part of their lives, He is their life!

The fear of death has long been left in the dust and the boldness of the Holy Spirit has gripped them. They are unyielding to the conformity of the world. They walk to the beat of a different drummer. It is not the applause of men that catches their attention but the approval of their God that satisfies them. Men like Noah, who heard the voice of God and moved with fear to build the Ark in the face of the unbelief of his generation. Men like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who would rather burn for the truth than bow to the lies of false worship. These testify to a belief that was burning deep within them. Men who believed the word that "this life is a vapor that is seen then it’s gone". Men like Moses who stood before God and then marched into Egypt to confront a tyrant or David running toward the giant who was the enemy of God!

In their mind this world was not enough. Some left wealth, comfort, and privilege to follow the God of the ages. Men and women who loved not their lives unto the death. They were willingly poured out like drink offerings and wrung out like rags, realizing that this life was not their final destination. Men like Isaiah who was sawn in two for speaking Gods word or weeping Jeremiah who was beaten and locked in stocks for prophesying. Men who embraced truth that was so evident that even in the face of death they could not be silenced. Abraham who left his country in pursuit of God but on this earth could find no home. Their passion for God pushed them forward, declaring and proclaiming Gods holy truth! Hebrews 12:1-2 says it best-"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Worship is the bowing of the heart, head, hand and knee! 
The complete and total giving of ourselves in reverence to our Holy God. It is the act of returning to our first love.

NOTES- We must Worship to please the Father!

A. Worship must be God centered.
1. Psalms 95:6 "Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker."

2. Hebrews 13:15 "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name." 

3. One of the great errors in modern worship is making it "worshiper centered". Worship is to be centered on God, not entertaining ourselves.

a. We need to understand that the blessings we receive from worship are a by-product of our worship and not the focus. In worship we come to do and give, not receive.

b. Our problem is not with the content of our worship. The problem is with our hearts. We are so materialistic and carnal minded that we cannot center our minds on praising God and need artificial stimulation to "feel" spiritual.


One who can give a firsthand account of something seen, heard and experienced.

"The church is the Spirit-filled community of faith that assembles to bear witness to the work and person of Jesus Christ as part of God's identity and action" 
-Dwight Pryor.

NOTES- We must Witness to please the Father.

Ephesians 3:10-11, "to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the CHURCH to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal PURPOSE which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord," (Emphasis added)

A) We must tell of what He has done for us personally. 

B) We must tell the message of His saving grace. 

C) We must tell how Jesus tasted death for all men. 

D) We must tell how He took the punishment for our sin so that we could share in the blessing that rightfully belongs to Him!


An activity involving mental and physical effort done in order to achieve the PURPOSE!

Yesterday at Dan Hinton's funeral 5 people gave their lives to Christ! Men are changed by His presence!

“When Moses says, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?" God answers not by telling Moses who he is, but by telling him who God is, saying, "I will be with you" (Exodus 3:12)”

Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt.

a) He was a part of the Royal family so he had the best of Egypt. The palace, the position and the provision!

b) They were slaves in Egypt! They suffered the worst under harsh task masters.

c) Moses never wanted to go back.

d) The  children of Israel could talk of nothing else? We were better off in Egypt!

What was difference?

a) Moses had a personal encounter with God at the burning Bush! He met with the "I am that I am" in Exodus 3

b) The children of Israel has seen the miracles but had not known the personal presence!

The children of Israel rejected His presence at Mt Sinai!

When we becomes Passionate for His presence then His heart becomes our heart and His Pursuit will becomes our Pursuit!

When I get to Heaven, if there is mud in the streets knee deep and the gates are made of cardboard and swing on leather hinges, if I can look down that muddy street, down that Heavenly Blvd and see Jesus, it will be Heaven to me!

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

He becomes the STANDARD by which we walk and not we ourselves!

So one hundred worshipers met together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become 'unity' conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.”

Revelations 1:10 "I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

NOTE--The book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ though given to John was to be sent to entire Body!

NOTE-- The number 7 represent completeness in the scripture, the seven churches represent the entire body of Christ on earth!

12) "Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands,"

NOTE--7 verse 20 tells us that the seven golden lamp stands are the 7 churches!

13) "and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band."

1) Jesus is in the midst of the church.
2) Jesus is speaking out of the church.
3) Jesus is speaking to the church.

14 "His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength."

4) Jesus is manifesting His glory in the church!

"Where He was is where He is and where He is is where He is going!"

Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever."

Let's no forget Peter!

John 21:15 "So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” 16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep."

The Lord's Passion for His Lambs becomes our Passion for His Lambs and is an expression of our Pursuit of Him!

Where is Jesus?

Mark 16:19, 20
"So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20) And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen." (NKJV)

The Lord's Passion for the Lost becomes our Passion for the Lost and is an expression of our Pursuit of Him!

The Lord's voice must be embraced by The Lamb's before The Lost will hear!

What is Jesus doing?

He is working through you and I!

We are co -laborers with God!
1 Corinthians 3:9 "For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building."

1) He is convicting!
John 16:8 "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:"

2) He is drawing!
 John 12:32 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”

3) He is saving!
Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

As we becomes Passionate for His Presence then His heart becomes our heart and His Pursuit becomes our Pursuit!

Let the Passion of God engulf us to the place of pursuing Him in all that we do. When we are passionate then we will Pursue!

I hope that today is finding you blessed! I just wanted to share some notes with you on last weeks sermon so that you and I can look at it together this week to keep it fresh in our minds! Together we are going to look more and more like Christ each and every day!
Now Consider How Great This Man!

The book of Hebrews is written before the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70. The Authorship has been strongly debated but the truth is we don't know who the author is. The book is written somewhere around A.D. 65. The book of Hebrews is written by a Hebrew to Hebrews!. If tithing were done away with this would be the book that should state that fact but in studying this book we see quite the contrary!

                         3 Main Points!
    1. There is a Tabernacle in Heaven with a great High Priest!

    2. The Tabernacle Moses built is an exact replica of the one in Heaven!

    3. The function of that Temple is still active today!

The Tabernacle of Moses!

 The Tabernacle was placed in the center of camp and their whole lives revolved around it!

Exodus 25:40 "And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain."

I believe that the structure of the tabernacle and it's placement holds a great significance to us as believers!

Three times in scripture these instructions are mentioned.
1) Exodus 25
2) Deuteronomy 8
3) Hebrews 8
A host of other scriptures allude to this fact!

Revelations 11:19 "And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His temple the ark of His testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail".

1. The Temple in Heaven has a great High Priest!
    The New Priestly Service

8:1- "Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,"

2. The Tabernacle in the wilderness that Moses built was an exact replica of the Temple in Heaven!

 Hebrews 8:2 "a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man."

3. The function of that Temple is still active today!

Hebrews 7:8 "Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives."

a) Mortal men-Men that die
b) Immortal-One that does not die-Jesus-recieves the Tithe in the Heavenly tabernacle!

Hebrews 8:4 "For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;"

The phrase “For if He were on earth” is evidence to the fact that we are speaking of Jesus after His ascension!

Hebrews 8:5 "who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Hebrews 7:4 "Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils."

17 "Today you have proclaimed the Lord to be your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will obey His voice. 18.-Also today the Lord has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments,"

Possessor of heaven and earth;

Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”
And he (Abram) gave him (Melchizedek) a tithe of all."

1 "For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” 3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually. 4 Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils. 5 And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; 6 but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. 7 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. 8 Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. 9 Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, 10 for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him."

Need for a New Priesthood

11 "Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. 13 For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar. 14 For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.[a] 15 And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest 16 who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. 17 For He testifies:[b]
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”[c]

Matt 16:18b "and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it."

Acts 2:42 "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."

The structure and care of the early church is seen in their desire to:

a) Continued-Greek-Ane-from Strong's G2258 and means to Agree, to be, charge of, hold, use.

b) Steadfastly-Greek-proskartereo-from the Strong's and means to adhere closely to, be constantly diligent, continue.

What did they agree with and continue in?

1) Continuing in the Apostles doctrine-The teaching of Christ's kingdom, The word of God!

2) Continuing in fellowship-from 2844; partnership, i.e. participation, or (social) intercourse, or (pecuniary) benefaction:--(to) communicate(-ation), communion, (contri-)distribution, fellowship.

3) Continuing in communion-the Lords supper.

4) Continuing in prayers-from 4336; prayer (worship); by implication, an oratory (chapel):--X pray earnestly, prayer.

Acts 2:46 "So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,"

They joined together at the temple.

They joined together at their houses.

They ate meals together.

47 "praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."

1) Praising-Greek-Aineo –from the Strong’s G134 and means to praise!

2) Favor-Greek-Charis-from the Strong’s G5485 and means to benefit, joy, liberality. His divine influence upon the heart!

3) Church-Greek-Ekklesia-from the Strong’s. Christian community of believers, called out assembly.




Acts 9:1 "Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”...(
Jesus sees the persecution of the church as persecution against Himself!)
And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”
Then the Lord said,
 “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”


We see from the scriptures below that the born again experience will be evidence by a deep and active love that is shown by how we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ!

Matt 25:37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?  38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?"

39 "Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’  40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’"

These verses are not written to the fivefold ministry alone but to the body of believers which includes the fivefold ministry!




”The sheep on the right must have had their names written in the book of life, and those on the left did not. But what Matt 25 brings out is the correlation between one's salvation status and one's behavior. Is this teaching salvation by works? Indeed we might come to that conclusion if we hadn't read the rest of the Bible. In reality what happens is that those who have been born of God naturally love the children of God. This is not performance based salvation, but salvation based performance. One's works are an effect of (and therefore indication of) one's salvation status, rather than being a cause of one's salvation.”- The Berean Christian Bible Study Resources

Notice how love for other Christians is an indication of one's salvation status:

1 John 3:10  "This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother."
1 John 
3:14 "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers."

1 John 5:1 "Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,
and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well."

13:35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

”But why doesn't Jesus mention the book of life here? Probably because he didn't want people to have the sort of concept of Eternal Security not uncommonly found in the Christian community today in which people assume they are saved but make no correlation to their behavior. Paul exhorts: "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you-- unless, of course, you fail the test?" 2Cor 13:5 But today many simply presume they are "in Christ" and don't question that fact, whereas

Show the love and favor of God to the body of Christ, starting at your local church and moving outward to the universal body of Christ and to the rest of the world! Confirm the Word


 2 Corinthians 5:16 (NKJV), "Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no long"

If we are full of Jesus and His love, then evangelism becomes automatic and not forced

1)      We must see ourselves according to the Word!

2)      We must see the saints according to the Word!

3)      We must know the world according to the Word!

Faith is the conviction of facts that you cannot see! When we believe the facts based on the promise of God and take possession of those things then they are manifested in the natural.

2 Corinthians 5:16 teaches us:

1) We should not regard ourselves according to the flesh but we must see ourselves as the word of God sees us. A lot of Christians are disobeying this principle and they keep looking at themselves in the natural! This verse says that we are to regard no one according to the flesh which includes us as individuals. People struggle with depression and stay bound in their minds because they never see themselves free the way the Bible speaks of them. No one includes us! We should focus on what God has said about us and allow that to build the picture of who we are instead of the natural. Allow the word of God to become the Spiritual force that changes how you see yourself.


2) We should not regard other saints according to the flesh but we must see other Christians as the word of God sees them. This is not always easy but it is effective and gives us the freedom to stand in faith with them instead of being at odds with one another.


3) We should not regard the world according to the flesh but we must see them according to the word of God. This should bring us to a place of compassion as we recognize that the mercy of God is extended to them. We become co-laborers with God as we believe for their salvation and begin to look past their flesh and see who they can be in God!

Joshua 3

In Joshua chapter 3 the children of Israel are on the other side of the Jordan River about to march in and take Jericho. God begins to speak to them about His plan to take the city. He tells them that they need to follow Him for they had never been this way before! When you see the Ark of the Lord being carried on the shoulders of the Levitical priest you shall set out from your place and follow it.

1)      When God moves, we must move with Him! Keep your distance from the Ark so that you can see what is about to happen at the Jordan river for you have never been this way before.

2)      Don’t box God in. Don’t crowd the Lord and think that He has to do things the way He has always done them before.

3)      Joshua under the instruction of God commands the people to sanctify themselves and be ready.

God has a plan, He always has a plan. You and I must follow the Spirit of the Lord when He moves and to follow where He is leading. When we follow Him we must realize that He knows where He is going and that we have never been this way before. Let us be open to the Lord and not limit our willingness to move based on the fact that He is moving in a way we have never seen before. God is calling us out to a life that is sanctified and set apart so that we will be ready to walk in His way and establish His victory!

Good morning!
I pray that you are meditating on God's word and allowing it to govern your thinking. I believe the Spirit of The Lord is on you and helping you to receive the transformation in your life that He desires! Praise God!
Get dressed! Put on the Whole Armor of God! "The Helmet of Salvation!"

God has told us to put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the enemy! The offer of His armor lets us know that simple human reasoning will never be enough to overcome the enemy!

God has not left you without protection but has freely given you His armor. It has been tested and proven!

Helmet of salvation = Mind of Christ!
The helmet of salvation tantamount to the mind of Christ. It is protecting your mind with the power of salvation. The mind of Christ is a mind that is governed by the anointing!

Get the mind of Christ and all of its benefits.

One of the instructions given to us in the Bible is to have the mind of Christ. We read in Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Have you ever wondered how this is possible?

Ephesians 6:13 "Therefore take up the whole armor of God,81
17 And take the helmet of salvation,"

1) Helmet- encirclement of the head, i.e. a helmet:--helmet.
2) Salvation- noun; defender or (by implication) defence:--salvation. From-rescue or safety -deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.


Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

God does not think or act the way we do (Isaiah 55) but He has given us His word so that we will be able to think His thought and walk in His ways! When we study and meditate on His word we begin the process of renewing our mind. Through this process we have the power of God through the word to transform (completely change...the word transformed in Rom 12:2 is the same word used to describe Jesus' transformation on the mount of transfiguration!) our lives. That is a promise of glorious power! Praise The Lord!

Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”

According to the above scripture you have to "Let this mind be in you", signifying that not only does it not happen automatically, it is something you must do. If you begin to think Gods thoughts you will begin to speak Gods word and walk in Gods ways and ultimately get the results God gets. Praise the Lord!

Philippians 4:8: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Take control of your thinking. Don't allow negative thinking to control your mind. Replace those negative thoughts with the kind of thinking described in Philippians 4:8 (above). This means you will have to think about your thoughts and not allow your mind to be the playground for the enemy. This is not easy but it is doable and it is victory!
Your mind has a profound effect on your body and God has given us the tools to walk in peace and health!

Ephesians 6:13-15 NKJV
13) "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14) Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15) and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16) above all, taking the "SHIELD OF FAITH" with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."

God has not left you without faith! Look at this scripture...
"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." 1 John 5:4 KJV
Your God given faith will work to protect you from the enemy! Praise God!

1) above all- The shield of faith not only defends our whole body but also our armour. It keeps the darts of the enemy away from the head, chest, waist, arms and legs. No wonder the Bible says we should have it 'above all'.

The shield of faith has a very specific function, which the Bible makes abundantly clear: to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Not some of them but ALL of them.

I want to remind you that faith is a shield to stop the darts and not a pair of pliers to pull the darts out with!

None of the other pieces of weapon mentioned so far are exalted as highly as the shield.

The shield moves with the attack. A skilled soldier can use the shield to hold back the darts of the enemy no matter the direction they come from. When the shield is down the other weapons are exposed.

"In Ancient Roman warfare the testudo, or tortoise formation, was a formation used commonly by the Roman Legions during battles, particularly sieges.
In the testudo formation, the men would align their shields to form a packed formation covered with shields on the front and top. The first row of men, possibly excluding the men on the flanks, would hold their shields from about the height of their shins to their eyes, so as to cover the formation's front. The shields would be held in such a way that they presented a shield wall to all sides. The men in the back ranks would place their shields over their heads to protect the formation from above, balancing the shields on their helmets, overlapping them. If necessary, the legionaries on the sides and rear of the formation could stand sideways or backwards with shields held as the front rows, so as to protect the formation's sides and rear." We must march in unison, protecting one another and joining our faith together to produce that impenetrable shield of Gods power!

Strong's definitions

1) shield-from 2374; a large shield (as door-shaped):--shield. Not pliers to pull them out but a shield!

2) faith-from 3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (the truthfulness of God), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself:--assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.

3) quench- to extinguish (literally or figuratively):-go out, quench.

4) fiery darts-flaming missiles 

5) wicked one-the devil, or (plural) sinners:--bad, evil, grievous, harm, lewd, malicious, wicked(-ness). See also 4191.

You have not been left out...
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:3)
